Full limits of mallards, widgeon and pintails taken in the dry corn! These late season ducks were totally fooled. With a steady supply of ducks pouring from the blue sky, it was one of our greatest hunts of the year!

We hunted a cattle pond and had a pretty fair hunt. Lots of ducks in the area and managed to get a few in our face!

Had the camera set behind us on wide angle and got this nice bunch of mallards on film!

After several years of watching big bucks skirt the edge of range while using traditional tree stand hunting methods, HoD field staffer Tim Robert goes out of the comfort zone and kills a big Illinois 8 point from a makeshift ground blind in the middle of a harvested cornfield!

We were calling at a flock of lessers and had a single suprise us from from the upwind side. It almost landed on the blinds! I wish we could have caught the imapact, but the flying feather aftermath is pretty good! The hysterical laughter says it all!

Sat on stand all morning and only saw this one small deer. Saw 25 the time before out of the same stand. Could not resist shooting him at 10 yards for the camera. Blood trail that a blind man could follow. Who cares if it is a small one, they drag easier, taste great and are fun to shoot!

Here is the video of the HoD crews first evening in North Dakota. Can't beat shooting lessers, pintails and mallards. That's why you make the 20 hour drive!

Had a small 1 1/2 year old 4 pt at about 10 yards on opening morning. I could have shot it several times from the camera stand, but the hunters stand did not have a shot. It was still great to be out and start the 6 month grind through deer duck and goose season.
